Jungle River & Crocodile Adventure

Transportation will be arranged to pick you up from your hotel and take you on a picturesque 20 minute road trip to the Jaco tour site.

This crazy adrenaline adventure takes you through the marvelous wonders of our rainforest. You will explore the Tarcoles River on our stunning pacific coast.

Your guide will point out different kinds of mammals, birds and reptiles that flourish in this mangrove system.

Depending on the season you will be able to spot different migratory aviary species; from October to April you can glimpse ospreys, gulls, terns cormorants, pelicans and frigates.

There will be numerous opportunities to take incredible pictures on this Jaco tour.

Carara National Park from Jaco

Scarlet Macaws flying overhead in formation, bursts of red, blue and yellow, possibly one of the most beautiful sights you will experience during your visit to Carara.

This transitional forest allows for rich biodiversity, housing approximately 48% of Costa Rica’s bird species.

Bird watching enthusiasts will have the opportunity to observe Scarlet Macaws, Aracari, Toucans, Herons, Egrets, Tinamous, Vultures and more. Your guide accompanies the group during the 2-mile hike, expanding on the different sights and sounds.

A 20-minute stop at an observatory along the way provides time for rest and photographs. The Tarcoles river is the Northern boundary of the park, and the bridge that crosses it is the perfect spot for safely observing the largest crocodile population in the country.

A hearty home-style lunch awaits at our base camp where you can share stories and snapshots of your Carara experience.

Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs

Experience a visit to the Arenal Volcano, it’s almost perfect conical shape towering over the town of La Fortuna, in Northern Costa Rica. While exploring the National Park, you may walk through trails created by lava formations towards a look out point from which you can see the dense vegetation, cut by past lava flows, and the beautiful valley below.

Next stop, a dip in natural hot springs, soothing your muscles and relaxing your entire body. Optional spa treatment available such as mud baths or massages.

Poas Volcano & Doka Coffee Tour

Experience a visit to an active volcano in the province of Alajuela. The Poás features two crater lakes, one more acidic than the other, changing in color from iridescent greens to sulphuric yellows. Observe the vegetation changes on the drive up through scenic plantations.

Upon your return, visit the Doka coffee plantations, and learn about the steps it takes to process the bright red fruit on the coffee trees into the steaming cup you enjoy every morning. From harvest, seed extraction and drying, roasting and storing, end the day enjoying the final product and choosing from different varieties to share with friends and family back home.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Adventure

A naturalist guide will lead the way as you explore the Monteverde cloud forest. The endangered beautiful Quetzal makes their home here, nesting in the moss filled trees. Villa Lapas Sky Way

The Sky Way is a network of hanging bridges suspended above the Villa Lapas natural reserve, the perfect way to explore the treetops enjoying the lush flora and abundant fauna.

Villa Lapas is a natural reserve that borders Carara National park, a paradise for birdwatchers. You will explore the 5 hanging bridges that make up the Sky Way, and measuring a total of 1.5 miles.

They are suspended above the ground at 180 feet, designed to explore the primary and secondary forests and treetops at eye level.

Your guide will assist in identifying the numerous bird species, mammals and other varied fauna that call this forest their home. From this vantage point, enjoy scenic views of the Pacific Ocean and Tarcoles River, which is known for having the largest crocodile population in the country

The one-hour excursion is an easy walk appropriate for all ages, making it an ideal family experience.

Catamaran Adventure from Jaco

Set sail towards the horizon aboard a catamaran, admiring the marine life as well as islands and rock formations close to the coast, bordering Manuel Antonio National Park.

You will board your catamaran at the pier in Quepos, the Marina Pez Vela, and sail off bordering the coast. Have your cameras ready to capture the beautiful scenery during the journey.

Your guide will be available to point our notable wildlife and vegetation as you admire the islands, cliffs and other natural formations.

Enjoy the beverages and snacks available on board.

After touring the coastline, the captain will set anchor at Biesanz Bay where you can snorkel or simply rest onboard.

You are most likely to spot parrotfish, starfish, and angelfish and dolphins sometimes follow the boat. A tasty barbecue lunch is served onboard.

Damas Island Mangrove Estuary by Boat Trip from Jaco

Explore the Costa Rican mangrove ecosystem on a comfortable boat gliding along the water while birdwatching and admiring the verdant flora of the area.

Wind through this natural sanctuary made up of canals and natural tunnels comfortably and safely.

Your experienced guide will spot flora and fauna along the way, pointing out species such as reptiles, anteaters, and monkeys.

Horseback Riding Tour Jaco

Explore Herradura on horseback on your way to the rainforest, spotting wildlife until you arrive at the pool and waterfall for a refreshing dip and snack.

The tour starts at our beautiful Herradura Costa Rica base, just 10 minutes from Jaco Beach and Los Sueños Marriott.

Once you arrive we will equip you and then depart on our journey to the waterfalls and swimming pools.

Along the way you will see farms, and get a closer look at nature, as you start ascending through the rainforest.

You may be able to spot some great wildlife such as: Toucans, Scarlet Macaws and White Faced Monkeys.

Upon arrival to the swimming pool area, your bilingual guide will set you up with some fresh fruit and water and you will have some time to relax and enjoy the waterfalls and natural slide.

Canopy Tour Los Sueños

Experience extreme adventure overlooking the Central Pacific Coast, Herradura Bay and the Gulf of Nicoya while zip lining through the tropical forest.

This canopy project was designed as extreme adventure and enjoying nature with minimum impact.

Half of the 80-acre property is primary forest, overlooking the Island and Bay of Herradura, and the Gulf of Nicoya.

Once on site you will take a specially designed tractor for a 15-minute off-road ride to the top of the mountain.

The canopy tour consists of 15 platforms and 14 cables, the longest of which is 2,400 feet.

These cables will allow you to descend the mountain over the pristine forest while enjoying the views.

El Chorro White Water Rafting from Jaco

Adventurous visitors to Manuel Antonio should not miss the chance to overcome “El Chorro”, a high degree whitewater rafting trip featuring class IV rapids.

“El Chorro” offers a class IV whitewater rafting trip on the upper section of the Naranjo River. A 45-minute drive will bring you to the put in point, where after detailed safety instructions and practice time you will begin your adventure.

This rafting trip is known as a dry season Class IV, increasing to Class V and frequently unnavigable during rainy season.

You need to be in tip top shape for this strenuous yet rewarding journey through a narrow gorge.

“El Chorro” loosely translates to “jet gorge”, due to the way the powerful water propels the raft.

Apart from the gorge, you will navigate through drops, and steep rapids and your guide will assist in maneuvering through the challenging boulders and bends.

Don’t forget to admire the lush forest around you between rapids, this river borders the Manuel Antonio National Park. Take a breather and enjoy some hydration and snacks before heading back to your hotel.
